- What degrees are offered at Valor Christian College?
We offer 7 Associate of Applied Science degrees in the following: Pastoral Leadership, Youth Ministries, Evangelism, Music Ministries, Missions, Media Ministries and Interdisciplinary Studies. Each program takes 4 semesters of full-time study to complete. In addition, we have two 1-year Diploma programs in Evangelism and General Bible Studies.
- Is Valor an accredited college?
Valor Christian College is professionally accredited through the Association of Independent Colleges and Seminaries. We have applicant status with the Association of Biblical Higher Education (ABHE). Our degrees are licensed by the Ohio State Board of Career Colleges and Schools.
- Do Valor credits transfer to other schools?
The determination rests with the receiving institution. Even for state universities the receiving college determines which courses they will transfer in or not. VCC has an articulation agreement with Ohio Christian University (OCU). Up to 60 semester credit hours will transfer from VCC to an OCU Bachelor of Arts program. If you are interested in transferring your credits from VCC to any other college or university you will need to personally contact each separately.
- What are the code numbers for the ACT and SAT test scores?
The VCC school code for the ACT is 4899.
The VCC school code for the SAT is 5972.
- Does Valor Christian College offer online classes?

- Does Valor Christian College offer any adult degree completion programs?
We offer an Adult Degree Completion program for adults that have completed at least 24 credit hours and would like to complete their Associate degree. Credit is also offered for individuals who enroll as part of continuing education. For more information see our Academic Catalog.
- Does Valor Christian College offer any continuing education?
We offer continuing education for students who are full-time students at other colleges, who are spouses of regularly enrolled students or individuals involved in continuing education taking limited course loads. We also allow individuals to enroll in our Adult Degree Completion program for continuing education.
- What kinds of classes are taught at the Valor?
Valor provides solid biblical and theological based courses, general education courses, and coursework in practical aspects of ministry. A sampling of courses includes: Old and New Testament Literature, Spiritual Formation, Introduction to Evangelism, English Composition, Leadership in Ministry, Acts, Media Script Writing and Media Directing, Audio and Light Production, Praise and Worship Leadership, Eschatology, College Choir, Music Theory, etc.
- What is the range of ages of students enrolled?
Valor attracts students from 17 to 65 years of age. Some students come straight from high school, some have previously been to college, and others have already graduated from previous colleges plus have working experience or graduate degrees when they come to Valor Christian College.
- How long does each semester last?
Valor has sixteen weeks of instruction plus finals. The fall semester begins in August and ends in December, and the spring semester begins in January and ends in May. Generally a two-year program can be completed in four semesters of full-time study. The one-year diploma program can be completed in two semesters of full-time study.
- Does Valor Christian College help students with employment while they are in school?
At the beginning of the fall semester, VCC invites various Columbus employers to our annual Job Fair to assist our students and their spouses in securing area employment. Other opportunities are posted on the Employment Board for the students to review. - What are the employment opportunities in the area?

- How can I pay for my tuition and fees?
Once a student has been formally accepted, they can begin submitting payment(s). Valor only accepts cashiers' checks, money orders, cash, American Express, Discover, MasterCard or Visa (debit or credit card). Personal, ministry or business account checks are not normally accepted.
- Does Valor qualify for Veteran’s Educational Benefits?
Yes. Veterans, war orphans, and dependents of disabled veterans who plan to attend the college and claim benefits under any of the federal or state educational programs should apply directly to their nearest Department of Veterans Affairs office for a Certificate of Eligibility. This should be presented no later than the time of registration to avoid delay in payment of the subsistence allotment. Students must be enrolled for 12 or more semester hours to be eligible for full-time benefits. Contact the Veteran's Coordinator at VCC at 888-78VALOR (888-788-2567), ext 155 for information.
- Does Valor offer scholarships or financial assistance?
The only financial assistance currently offered is the Veteran’s Education Benefits (listed above). Contact Valor for more information on this opportunity. At this time Valor, is not recognized by the federal Government (except for veteran’s benefits), therefore our students are not eligible to receive federal or state money. Valor does not offer scholarships. Valor tuition is intentionally kept low to enable as many students as desire to attend the school.
- Does Valor Christian College offer housing on campus?
Yes. Valor has one women’s residence hall named Cunningham Hall and one men’s residence hall named Jude Hall. All students are required to live in the residence halls unless they are married, single parents with children or live with immediate family in the Columbus area.
- How are roommates assigned in the Residence Halls?
Roommates will be assigned upon arrival at Valor. If you would like to request to live with a specific person, you may do so on the Roommate Placement Information Form, which you will receive via mail after you have been accepted to Valor and have paid the minimum required to live in the Residence Halls.
- Do you provide housing for married couples and/or single parents with dependants?
At this time Valor does not provide housing for married couples or a single parent with dependants. Information on local housing is available upon acceptance to Valor.
- Are any meals available at Valor?
We are developing a new plan for students to be served in the MAC Café. Details will be released before the end of June. Students who live in the Residence Halls have access to cooking utensils and microwaves, as well as a commissary with vending machines.
- What classes can I transfer in from another college?
All class credits taken at ABHE and regionally accredited colleges or universities will be transferred depending upon if they fit within the student’s specified academic program. A grade of "C" or higher is required and a sufficient amount of credit to fulfill our requirements is needed. The college you attended must send an official transcript to Valor for consideration.
- Can I complete an Associate degree program in less than two years?
Normally it takes two years to complete the academic degree program. It is possible to take quick-term classes, summer school, online classes and to transfer in credits from other colleges. However, it is best that the student talk to his or her advisor.
- Does Valor Christian College offer correspondence courses?
Valor firmly believes that students get more out of interacting in a regular classroom setting. However, we offer the External Studies Program (ESP) for those who want to learn more about the Bible but cannot relocate to Columbus, Ohio. The courses are available online and by mail. The External Studies Program has popular courses for Christian layman and is not for college credit.
- Does Valor Christian College offer summer classes?
Summer classes are offered during the times listed on our Academic Calendar when available. We also have a Summer Internship Program for current students who make application for this program.
- Are there any athletic opportunities at Valor Christian College?
Valor offers Men and Women’s College Basketball and Men’s Soccer teams (more to be announced soon). We are excited to have dual membership with the Ohio Collegiate Athletic Conference (OCAC) and the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA). This enables athletes to compete on a very competitive playing field and have an opportunity to win both conference and national championships.
